The Historic History of Tea and Health

This week marks the first in a series of shows on tea and health. Manish Shah takes you back to the good ol’ days of tea, in fact the good very old days of tea, when it was first discovered and its many health benefits were first noted. Speaking of the good ol’ days, Tere Clark is getting married this week, leaving Manish to host the show all alone… just like old times!

Tea is said to be discovered by a Chinese emperor, after a few leaves fell into his boiling water.  Those leaves would have been closest to what we call white tea today, the least processed of all tea varieties.
